"Unworn" by Dan Beachy-Quick

I picked this poem because of the way this artist wrote it. I usually prefer rhyme in written poetry, but this one just caught the eye of me. This poem rhymed in a way, because it repeated the same line twice. My favorite part of the poem is when he said: "Open the water glass with a shattering disregard... My nervous finger makes me pick up the shard..."

  1. I also enjoyed the repetition in this poem. It's one of those poems that demonstrates how poetry really lets you experiment with form. It doesn't have rhyme, but it has a hypnotic rhythm. And it feels like "stream-of-consciousness," as if this were three minutes of the poets' wandering thoughts, unedited. I don't know what it means, but it's cool.

  3. I liked that poem as well. It is a poem that shows that not every other line needs to rhythm, with I enjoy reading. The lines that you enjoyed we really good, it gave you an idea of the situation.
